The Fall 2011 issue is only a few days away (it comes out on the 15th, so be sure to subscribe if you don’t already!), so it’s time for us to give you a sneak peek of the cover, featuring the insanely wonderful and talented Erin Austen Abbott of Amelia Presents (among her many claims to fame) on the cover. This feature was the brainchild of our fabulous editor Elise Yetton and it’s one of the staff’s favorites to date. We can almost guarantee that you’ll want to pick up and move to Oxford, MS — and become best friends with Erin — after reading the cover story.
Love seeing people use there talents to help the world collaborate to help others. Here’s just a small sampling of ways available to help send love and relief to Japan…
And don’t forget…you can join Southern Flourish’s aid relief effort simply by subscribing to our Spring 2011 issue! $2 of every subscription go to relief in Japan!
We get so many lovey comments about the fantastic fashion illustrations in our issues. They are drawn by the wonderful Hanna from Gadabout. In fact, you can now purchase a stationary set featuring an illustration from our Spring 2010 issue. Love it!
Have you been itching to jump into your first (or next!) big creative endeavor, but aren’t sure where to begin? Join host Kate Hash, founder and editor-in-chief of Southern Flourish magazine, and special guest host Olivia Rae James, a popular lifestyle blogger, for an inspirational online seminar dedicated to helping you launch your next creative project.
So often in life, we unfairly compare ourselves to others, but the fact of the matter is this: great minds don’t necessarily think alike. Your path to creative success will look very different from friends, family and those you read about online. In this seminar, you’ll hear how left-brained Kate and right-brained Olivia took two very different paths to creative, personal and professional fulfillment. What’s more, Kate and Olivia will discuss challenges they faced along the way, how they stay motivated, and techniques they use for staying inspired. Then, Kate and Olivia will use their expertise to share innovative tools for carving your own creative path.
At the end of the seminar, you’ll have the tools you need to take the next step toward creative freedom.
This southern gal is a natural. That is, she uses all natural materials and media to create her life-giving, life-celebrating, life-loving masterpieces.

I need a drum roll to introduce this Southern princess:
Chocolate Butterbean, started and run by a Georgia girl, is home to custom invitations and my new favorite wedding tradition, wooden wedding signs. How cute is that?
The invitations, which include all things sweet from “save the dates” to honorary celebrations, are sure to make you squeal with delight.
And those wedding signs…oh, the wedding signs! They’re bound to make you want to get hitched on the spot. I would love to see my name painted across one of these…
But do hurry! The lovely lady of Chocolate Butterbean is about to have a baby girl! (Congratulations!) Order those wedding invitations before August 27!
Have you ever caught yourself having a “Blonde Moment?” Well this southern gal knows ALL about those… and more. Debbie Thornton writes blonde, A.D.D. cookbooks. They’re not just for Blondes though, check out AnotherBlondeMoment.com.
Sorry we’ve been MIA lately…we’re super busy putting together an AMAZING summer issue for you all! To make up for it, we’ll be posting teaser photos every single day for the summer issue–which goes live on June 15!
